Thailand is a favorite destination among many digital nomads and remote workers. This country is no stranger to remote workers, and the city of Chiang Mai is known as the Digital Nomad capital of the world.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand launched the Long Term Residence Visa. This newly introduced Thailand digital nomad visa allows you to stay for a decade. However, the Long Term Residence Visa is highly selective and has stringent restrictions, in contrast to other accessible options.
Most Nomads use the tourist visa; with the tourist visa, you can stay for 60 days and extend it for another 30 days.

The UAE's remote work visa, the Virtual Working Programme, covers the whole country, so Dubai and Abu Dhabi aren't separate schemes. It's valid for a year and renewable. South Korea
The South Korean digital nomad visa is known as the Working Holiday Visa. It isn’t technically a remote work visa, but it is the closest thing South Korea has.
With this visa, you can travel through the country for up to one year and work while there.

In October 2022, Malaysia launched its digital nomad visa, DE Rantau Nomad Pass. This visa allows independent workers, remote workers, and digital nomads to stay in Malaysia for up to 12 months.

A lot of lists pad their numbers with these. None of them has a working digital nomad visa right now. Here's what people actually use instead, so you can plan on something real.
France: No nomad visa. Most remote workers use the long-stay visitor visa, which requires resources at least equal to the French minimum wage.
Serbia: No branded nomad visa. The working route is self-employment registration followed by a temporary residence permit of up to three years.
North Macedonia: Announced, never implemented. Plan around standard visitor rules.
