WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior BI Engineer, you will join the Care Model Insights team to help us build and maintain a strong analytical foundation in Looker, from which we’ll instrument and measure our care delivery and operations workstreams. You will model data, develop intuitive explores in Looker, and deliver consistent and performant dashboards and reports to help us understand and improve our business.
In this position, you will collaborate with our Product, Clinical, and Operations teams to identify opportunities to improve outcomes further and track the efficacy of our tooling and interventions as we serve our patients. You will help us raise the bar of what great analytics look and feel like for our internal customers with ongoing documentation and training efforts in support of a Looker implementation that is a reliable, intuitive, and approachable source of insights and information.
- Gain a deep understanding of our business and key stakeholders, and translate their actions and questions into intuitive and illuminating data models
- Work alongside a team of data scientists and data analysts to develop systems to organize and maintain high value analytics and reporting assets (KPIs, customer-facing metrics, etc.)
- Play a key role in developing and executing on a roadmap to further build out a modular and scalable analytics platform
- Develop documentation and training materials to improve the data fluency and Looker comfort of our internal customers
- Build canonical and one-off exploratory dashboards for business and clinical stakeholders
- Build customer-facing reports and coordinate with business operations teams on specifications, deliveries, and ongoing troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot data model and reporting issues, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and performant analytics are always available to support decision-making
WHAT YOU HAVE
- Deep experience (5+ years) working as a Looker developer building views, explores, models, and final dashboards / reports
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare operations data (claims, prior auth, EHR, scheduling, etc.)
- Strong SQL skills and a familiarity with, or willingness to learn, dbt
- A bias for transparency and partnership with stakeholders, balancing building it “right” vs building what’s needed “right now”
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excitement about joining a fast-moving startup that iterates quickly and prioritizes delivery

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. In accordance with New York City law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York City is $120,000-$140,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
