Job Description:

As the Accountant at Orchestry, you will use your accounting expertise and passion for technology to contribute to a rock-solid foundation for a high-growth company. You have a strong self-starting work ethic, enjoy innovation, and can stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Initially this role will encompass all aspects of finance and accounting (with a dash of HR) and the scope will narrow refine as the department develops and the company grows. Your can-do attitude and keen mind will play a pivotal role in both Orchestry's and your own professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable processes.
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable processes including sending invoices, following up on delinquent accounts, and collaborating with the sales teams managing customer relationships.
  • Preparing monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and departmental allocations.
  • Supporting business system data integrity, including reconciling systems and establishing processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, build insightful reports, address accounting issues, and build/maintain accurate documentation.
  • Supporting with the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, filings, and reporting.
  • Supporting with regulatory audits and other ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a tech startup environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related technologies.
  • At least 3 years experience with online accounting software platforms, preferably Xero.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills along with the ability to effectively execute on tasks and projects and iterate when necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a paperless and remote environment.
  • Be organized, efficient, and have excellent time-management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Be a self-starter, who loves to dig into problems and find creative solutions.
  • Be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.

Desired Qualities:

  • Experience with other peripheral tools such as Dext, Fathom, Rise, Monday
  • Experience with automation and reporting tools such as Zapier and Klipfolio
  • Experience working with US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting and consolidation
