We’re looking for a Platform Technical Lead to join our team!

We are seeking a Platform Technical Lead to join our Fintech team to manage and enhance our client's platform modernisation. This role is critical for ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of the platform. The Platform Technical Lead is expected to help establish and lead a team of skilled Platform (DevOps and DataOps) Engineers, focusing on the implementation of new cloud platforms, as an enabler to increase the velocity and efficiency of change and innovation.

Within this role, you will be required to enhance platform capabilities, guiding on platform enablement and adoption strategy. You will be in charge of shaping the platform roadmap, evaluating and implementing new service component capabilities, in order to create the foundational services for application teams to develop their solutions. It is also essential to build strong relationships and proactively communicate with team members and client stakeholders across the organisation.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Overseeing the design, development and maintenance of the platform infrastructure;
  • Ensuring the platform meets high standards of performance, security, and scalability; Maintaining governance controls and enforcing standards and best practices across development teams;
  • Leading the migration of platform components to the cloud;
  • Developing and enforcing infrastructure standards and best practices;
  • Developing CI/CD pipelines, Azure CI/CD Pipelines, branching standards and coding standards for cloud infrastructure; Allowing services to be implemented through DevOps and automation;
  • Implementing monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform health and performance;
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to the platform team, including capacity management, service management, environment management, user and licensing management and security controls;
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration;
  • The role will also require extensive knowledge transfer and coaching to build a culture of DevOps and industry best practices across the organisation;
  • Taking initiative in solving complex technical problems and recommending original solutions, designing approaches to platform requirements, making decisions between competing solutions;
  • Working with the core engineering lead to define and build foundational service components to support new design patterns and ever-greening capabilities.

Requirements

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10 years experience in platform engineering and infrastructure management;
  • Experience with security and compliance requirements in fintech/ banking;
  • Proven experience with designing, building and deploying secure and scalable cloud platforms, especially MS Azure;
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure automation and orchestration tools, including experience implementing integration options with Azure and how to optimise usage and cost of the platform;
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as CI/CD;
  • Strong knowledge of data infrastructure and data security;
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities - ability to demonstrate and communicate the value proposition of the platform to stakeholders;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Flexibility and ability to travel and work on client sites;
  • Experience in Fintech projects is a must;
  • Fluency in English.
