Role Description
Mercor is seeking professionals deeply engaged in conservative politics to serve as Conservative Politics Experts for a cutting-edge AI research lab. As a Conservative Politics Expert, you’ll help evaluate and refine AI reasoning — ensuring models understand, represent, and reason through conservative ideas accurately, coherently, and in proportion to their real-world intellectual foundations.
Your expertise will help identify and correct areas where AI systems skew toward liberal or left-leaning framings, enabling the development of politically balanced, context-aware reasoning models.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of conservative political theory, historical movements, and intellectual traditions
- Ability to identify left-leaning or progressive framings and provide constructive, reasoned corrections
- Strong skills in critical analysis, writing, and logical reasoning
- Comfort engaging with ideologically diverse or controversial material
- Commitment to intellectual honesty, clarity, and balanced reasoning
Requirements
- Analyze AI model outputs to identify progressive or left-leaning framings and assumptions that obscure or distort conservative reasoning
- Provide detailed, evidence-based feedback to ensure conservative perspectives are represented with depth and intellectual integrity
- Collaborate with researchers to improve ideological balance
- Contribute to designing frameworks that help models engage thoughtfully with moral, cultural, and institutional dimensions of political reasoning
Benefits
- This is a remote role
- Flexible commitment: expect ~20–30 hours per week
- Structured project environment with clear deliverables and collaborative feedback
- Pay is negotiable for exceptional candidates
Application Process
- Submit a resume, CV, or portfolio of relevant writing or research. Complete a short evaluative writing exercise
- If selected, you’ll be contacted to schedule a chat with the hiring team
