LastPass is looking for an Manager, DevOps Engineering: 

In this role you will manage a team of DevOps engineer that are focusing on the Operational Excellence of our department. Your team will be dedicated to build and automate key processes but also to provide great stakeholder experience

Who will you work with?

You will collaborate with direct reports, other Engineering Managers, and the Project Manager to ensure the team focuses on the right priorities. Working with the ScrumMaster, you will drive alignment and continuous improvement. You will also tackle major technical challenges with architects and assess tasks with security and operational teams. Fostering strong partnerships with supported teams will be key to your role.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on? 

  • Recruit, hire, coach, and mentor the engineers within one or multiple teams 
  • Provide coaching to the individuals reporting to you 
  • Write performance reviews and provide quality feedback regularly to help individuals grow 
  • Discuss and help guide activities to support team members' career development 
  • Set clear and challenging goals for the team members 
  • Build a team, foster a positive team environment in which individuals feel valued 
  • Support relevant part of the development: design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance 
  • Supervise and support multiple complex projects concurrently 
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans 
  • Participate in strategic planning and risk assessment 
  • Coordinate activities with other managers, Architects, and PMs to help the team members accomplish business goals 
  • Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers 
  • Analyze, develop / implement policies, procedures, and standards for devops and org 
  • When necessary, execute code reviews for quality, standards, and provide feedback
  • Act as a guardian of software quality and infrastructure stability and reliability
  • Build strong internal culture aligned with the company’s values
  • Develop and engage with local tech community 

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Experience in enterprise level CI/CD and DevOps Cultural Methodologies
  • Experience as a developer and a manager of development teams
  • Relevant hands-on experience as people manager/team leader role 
  • Expert of agile methodologies, demonstrate application of agile principles in teams 
  • Structured, but creative mindset, finds ways to move the team forward towards execution excellence   
  • A focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Experienced in an End-To-End thinking and taking responsibility beyond team boundaries   
  • Ability to devise and frequently revisit operational awareness in the team, including shared deployment responsibilities, monitoring, incident handling, and failure mode analysis.
  • Effective communication skills, able to explain technically challenging details to stakeholders, partners, and peers.
  • Ability to interact with customers, PMs, POs, stakeholders, and senior leadership on all levels.
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Experience with developing psychological safety on teams
  • Experience with a “blameless” culture and fail-fast mindsets
  • Team-player and can-do attitude 
  • Fluent in English 

It’s great, but not required:

  • Experience as a Program or Product Manager
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Technical experience in AWS
