The position and your daily adventures

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team, with a primary focus on operating and scaling our operations for our on-site and cloud operations. Additionally, you will be part of our DevOps Team, working on initiatives and providing support to enable our development teams and manage our infrastructure. This is a full-time remote position from Argentina.

Tasks
  • Manage SLAs that require sub-hour attention and respond to incidents on a daily basis
  • React, resolve, and escalate incidents as necessary, collaborating with the technical and business teams.
  • Build and implement incident processes to ensure the organization's ability to operate our connection at scale, working alongside the business and technology teams.
  • Take ownership, plan, and execute both planned and on-demand maintenance of our systems, collaborating with impacted and dependent technology and business teams.
  • Continuously improve our product, including observability and integration with internal services and processes.
Requirements

Technical skills:

  • Virtualization (i.e. management of virtualization console, etc.)

  • Network definition and network devices management (i.e. switches & FW)

  • Operating systems →

  • Critical: Linux

  • Windows Server (including Windows Active Directory)

  • Middleware: Database Engine management and tuning (ideally PostgreSQL) and Application Server management and tuning (ideally PostgreSQL and MySQL)

  • Process automation (e.g. snapshots, backups, etc.)

  • Communications: IP/TCP fundamentals, VPNs, TLS, mTLS, SSL Certificates

  • 3 years of experience with monitoring and alerting tools (both for infra & logs) such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Kibana, Datadog

  • Experience with the following technologies: Kubernetes, Kafka,Terraform, Terragrunt, PostgreSQL, AWS, Azure

  • At least 3 years of experience in software development using Java, Python, Go, or another programming language.

  • Strong technical knowledge in IP/TCP fundamentals, VPNs, TLS, mTLS, SSL Certificates, and Linux system administration.

  • At least 3 years of experience with logging and metrics technologies Nice to have: Experience with multi-region cloud deployments

  • Nice to have: Experience with CISCO UCS and VMware ESXi, VSphere systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to incorporate peer review to improve designs and rectify errors before they occur.

Soft Skills:

  • Self-starter with strong communication skills, planning abilities, problem-solving capabilities, and a focus on strategic and long-term improvements, while maintaining execution and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with technical terminology in both Spanish and English
