Role Description

The Lead Privacy Program Manager, Implementation will play a crucial role in supporting and managing the global privacy program. This individual will lead key initiatives, including:

  • Regulatory implementation
  • Build-out of privacy governance processes
  • Development of privacy guidance documentation to support the business and stakeholder functions

As a key member of the Global Privacy Office, the individual will provide guidance on data privacy matters, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and Company policy and contributing to privacy program goals and initiatives.

This role requires comprehensive knowledge of privacy regulations and experience in managing privacy programs, ideally in the health care sector (e.g., insurance, patient care setting, pharmacy benefits management), medical device manufacturing, laboratory, or life sciences.

This position will be Madison, WI, or Remote.

Essential Duties Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead process to implement changes in law, regulation, or adjustments in practices to support privacy compliance and risk management.
  • Identify potential risks or gaps in the privacy program and proactively suggest and implement innovative solutions for continuous process and systems improvement.
  • In coordination with Legal and other members of the Global Privacy Office, identify key opportunities to develop privacy-focused guidance.
  • Build key processes to support effective privacy governance.
  • Report key privacy metrics to senior leadership, providing insights on compliance status and areas of improvement.
  • Provide expertise in addressing data protection issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Champion a ‘privacy first’ approach to the design and development of products, services, and internal initiatives.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Track legislative and regulatory developments relating to data protection globally.
  • Effectively convey complex privacy concepts and help translate them into actionable policies and training.
  • Stay current and informed about new technologies, security systems, and privacy risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years or more equivalent experience in privacy law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in privacy, compliance, or legal roles, preferably within the life sciences, medical device, or health care industry.
  • CIPP certification is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of US privacy laws, including state-comprehensive privacy laws, state data breach laws, HIPAA, genetics laws, and emerging AI regulations.
  • Proven leadership skills to promote a culture of compliance.
  • Experience working within a multinational organization.
  • Familiarity with privacy laws impacting medical devices and laboratory compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail in handling privacy compliance matters.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to spend long periods of time concentrating and/or analyzing data.
