As a Level Designer focused on maps and game modes, you’ll leverage your design expertise and deep knowledge to design, tweak, and optimize the player experience for multiplayer PvPvE extraction gameplay. You’ll work directly with cross-functional teams to improve and extend our existing multiplayer maps across different levels of challenge and complexity, from new player to hardcore game experiences.


Responsibilities:
  • Concept, design, and rapidly prototype level layouts, map mechanics, events, objectives, and environmental interactions to engage and entertain players.
  • Iterate on gameplay levels and content using assets across all production phases (from greyblock to final)
  • Work with gameplay designers and artists to build compelling handcrafted gameplay spaces
  • Identify and implement map content to meet the prioritized needs for the product schedule and testing cycles
  • Playtest, gather feedback, and translate into iterative improvements that support the gameplay vision


  • Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with multiplayer game maps and modes as a level designer
  • Experience using Unreal for building environments, level scripting, level design
  • Demonstrated understanding of Unreal blueprints for content pipelines (levels, creatures, objects, and encounters)
  • Deep play experience with and understanding of PvP gameplay experiences within leading recent multiplayer games, MOBAs, session-based action games with item collection, and/or MMOs.
  • Deep play experience and understanding of the progression and end-game experience of games that combine PvE and PvP gameplay.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Development experience with extraction and/or item progression focused, PvP session-based games.
  • Experience programming or understanding within Unreal environment (C++)
  • In the United States, the standard base pay range for this role is $94,000 - $184,000 annually. This base pay range is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S., and those interviewing from outside of the U.S. can inquire accordingly. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience and performance. In addition to competitive base pay, employees in this role are eligible for equity, healthcare benefits, flexible paid time off, paid family leave, company-wide holidays, and relocation assistance where applicable.
