Job details

ARETUM, a leading technology company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Communications Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Communications Engineer at Aretum, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced communication systems and networks to support our clients' mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities:
    • Design and implement scalable, performant, and secure computer networks. 
    • Install and configure network hardware/software components. 
    • Diagnose and resolve network issues, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted network operations. 
    • Implement and maintain security measures as per government policies to protect the networks from potential threats and unauthorized access. 
    • Monitor network performance and optimize configurations to ensure optimal speed, reliability, and efficiency. 
    • Work closely with IT teams to integrate network components with other infrastructure elements. 
    • Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. 
    • Plan and execute periodic network equipment upgrades, apply patches, and ensure the overall health of the network. 
    • Monitor network traffic patterns and plan for capacity expansion to accommodate future business needs. 
    • Ability to work during non-business hours and participate on-call rotation.  Provide 24/7/365 Tier 3 response to any/all outages or out-of-parameter conditions within 15 minutes of occurrence and ensure email notification to customer upon initiation of response. 

Requirements

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must have a current IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE, GICSP, CND, or equivalent)
    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.  
    • Must have ten (10) years of experience in a network engineering role.
    • Strong technical skills in networking protocols and technologies. Must have a strong understanding of fundamentals (HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, SSL) 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. 
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.  
    • Attention to details. 
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services. Understanding of AWS CloudFormation is a plus.
