Director of Growth – Gaming & Monetization

We are seeking a Director of Growth with deep expertise in the gaming industry to drive user acquisition, engagement, and monetization strategies for third-party developers and game creators.

Position Overview

As Director of Growth, you will lead growth strategy, monetization, and engagement initiatives for gaming products and services. This role involves working with developers, internal stakeholders, and data teams to optimize user retention, revenue streams, and live service models. You will define growth roadmaps, develop scalable programs, and establish best practices for monetization within a fast-paced, evolving gaming landscape.

Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Monetization
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to drive player acquisition, engagement, and long-term retention.

  • Identify and implement monetization strategies, including free-to-play, live-service, and digital economies.

  • Work closely with game developers to optimize revenue models, in-game purchases, and subscription-based offerings.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and consumer behavior to refine growth initiatives.

Data-Driven Optimization
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for user growth, retention, and monetization.

  • Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements in player engagement, conversion rates, and revenue.

  • Partner with data science and analytics teams to conduct A/B testing and optimize pricing models, promotions, and in-game rewards.

Partnerships & Developer Success
  • Collaborate with third-party game developers to ensure successful adoption of best practices for engagement and monetization.

  • Lead initiatives to educate and empower developers on designing sustainable live-service models.

  • Build scalable programs that help developers achieve growth and revenue goals.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with product, marketing, business development, and engineering teams to execute growth initiatives.

  • Develop tools and capabilities that support user acquisition, retention, and in-game economy management.

  • Communicate strategies and insights to executive leadership, external partners, and internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in growth strategy, product management, or monetization within gaming, entertainment, or technology industries.

  • Strong expertise in free-to-play, live-service models, digital economies, and in-game monetization.

  • Proven ability to leverage data analytics and visualization tools to drive decision-making.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product, engineering, and business development teams.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Game Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading growth and monetization strategies for successful live-service games.

  • Background in mobile, AR, VR, or cloud gaming.

  • Knowledge of A/B testing, user acquisition strategies, and behavioral analytics.

  • Proven ability to scale growth initiatives in a rapidly evolving environment.
