O Cantinho do Malhão is a magical refuge featuring custom-made furniture crafted by the owner, a professional carpenter. Experience the pure silence of the Alentejo region in a 400m² private garden with hexagonal decks designed for relaxation. Located just 15 minutes from Milfontes, it features a wild 2km trail through the dunes, allowing you to walk directly to the stunning Praia do Malhão. The perfect retreat for peace, Wi-Fi, and style.
The Space
The house is a bright open-space cabin optimized to the millimeter, designed to offer comfort and an intimate atmosphere. It is fully equipped for remote workers and winter travelers.
Sleeping Area (Mezzanine): Climbing the stairs, you access the charming open mezzanine (without doors), where you will find a comfortable French double bed wrapped in the geometric lines of the wooden ceiling. Full sets of bed linen and towels are provided for your stay.
Living Area (Ground Floor): The entrance opens into a bright open-space living room equipped with a fast Wi-Fi connection and a Smart TV (perfect for watching Netflix after a surf day). The space also features a dining table and a highly versatile sofa bed composed of two real, standard single mattresses (90x200 cm). This setup is ideal for additional guests, colleagues sharing the space, or relaxing during the day.
Kitchen & Bathroom: The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, moka coffee maker, toaster, and electric kettle. The fully equipped bathroom is also located on the ground floor.
Winter Comfort & Heating
Alentejo winters can get chilly at night, but this house is fully equipped to keep you warm and cozy. The cabin features a beautiful pellet stove that heats up the entire A-frame structure in minutes.
Please note: Water, electricity, and high-speed internet are fully included in the monthly price. To ensure total control over your preferred temperature, wood pellets for the stove are not included in the rent and can be easily purchased at the local shops.
The Garden & Hexagonal Decks
The 400m² private outdoor space is the true heart of the property, designed for outdoor living even during the sunny winter days:
The Covered Patio: A shaded hexagonal deck with a dining table, ideal for al fresco breakfasts or breezy dinners.
The Solarium Area: A second hexagonal deck, bathed in the Alentejo sun, equipped with sun loungers for your moments of tanning and relaxation.
The Mobile Hammock: Equipped with a self-supporting structure, you can move it wherever you prefer in the garden, whether in the shade or the sun.
Guest Access & Location
The house is located in a natural area, immersed in the authentic peace of the countryside and off the main road. For this reason, the last meters to reach the property by car are on a dirt road, typical of the Alentejo region, perfectly accessible with any standard car at a moderate speed.
Parking: The property includes a practical, private, and covered parking space inside the fenced garden.
Surf & Trekking: Perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts. You are next to the Rota Vicentina trails and just a short distance from the waves.

Cancellation Policy
You can cancel the reservation for free within 30 days before moving.
If you cancel your booking 30 days or more before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of the entire first rent. If you cancel your booking up to 14 days before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of half of the first rent. If you cancel your booking less than 13 days before the move-in date, you won’t get a refund of the first rent. The service fee is always refundable. If you send a message to Flatio's Support Team requesting cancelation of the booking ("termination from the start date") within 48 hours after the lease agreement becomes valid, you're entitled to get back all the money you paid for the service fee. After 48 hours, you're entitled to a refund of the service fee in the form of a "voucher" equal to the amount of the service fee you paid. The voucher can be used for your next booking and is valid for 12 months. If the service fee for your next booking is lower than the voucher amount, we'll issue you a new voucher for the remaining amount, valid for 12 months.

What happens after I make a reservation?
Once you send a reservation request, the landlord is notified that you are interested in their offer. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your reservation.
Landlords are mainly interested in the profile of their tenant. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your reservation will more likely get approved.
What is the standard furnishing of flats?
All the apartments on offer on Flatio must meet certain standards. We require fully furnished and equipped ones, dishes, cutlery and internet connection included.
What is a medium-term rent?
The duration of a medium-term rent is usually 1 to 12 months. Most of the landlords offer long-term rents or rents for just a few days, therefore getting a medium-term rent without Flatio is not that easy.
Can I go through the contract before I make a reservation of the housing?
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every offer. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the landlords on Flatio.
Can I see my chosen accommodation in person before I sign the lease agreement?
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the landlord and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
If you move in and find that the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio at the time the reservation request was sent to the landlord, you can withdraw from the lease agreement under certain circumstances explained in this article in our help center.
Also, under our "secure move-in" policy, we'll assist you with moving to an alternative accommodation if you report within a certain period of time that the rental unit doesn't match the ad and the landlord doesn't fix the problem immediately. You can read the details in our help center.
How can I pay?
On Flatio, you have a variety of payment methods to choose from. You can use your card, payment gateway or bank transfer. Just pick the one which suits you the most.
How can I cancel my reservation?
How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.
Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved reservation and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your reservation, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
