Looking for an authentic and tranquil experience? My home is your ideal choice. Nestled in the center of historic Carcavelos, it has traditional Saloia house features, it is close to transport, the beach, shops, markets and services.
Rehabilitated in 2023 by my mother, an architect, for your family vacations, romantic getaway, adventure with friends, or as a remote workspace for digital nomads, my house offers everything you require for an unforgettable stay.

| The space |

- Courtyard: adorned with traditional Portuguese cobblestone, disposes a hammock, a barbecue (charcoal not guaranteed) and a medlar tree that bears fruit at the end of summer.
- Living Room: decorated with cherish items like a leather sofa bed, an armchair and a Moroccan rug from Fes. On the shelf, discover a collection of board games (Cards Against Humanity, Trivial Pursuit and Jenga), a television, a Bluetooth speaker, a small heater, books and guides. The sofa bed when unfolded measures 160x200cm in size.
- Dining Room: next to the living room, has a purely decorative fireplace with no operational functionality.
- Kitchen: completely equipped and open to the dining room.
- Bathroom: modern, fully equipped, that shares its space with the toilet facilities.
- Staircase: considered the crown jewel, this unique iron staircase is a marvel of design, requiring agility and perhaps a touch of acrobatics. It's important to note that it may be a challenge for people with limited mobility, children, the elderly and for carrying suitcases. This stairs have replaced the previously installed ladder, offering better functionality and aesthetics.
- Bedroom: located on the first floor with stair access, is furnished with a 160x200cm bed (Emma Hybrid mattress purchased in September 2022), illuminated by two Velux windows (with blackout blinds) and possesses multiple cupboards built into the wall. Inside you will find a heater and a dehumidifier. Please note that the roof of this room is slanted, so we advise you to be mindful of the height of your head.
Other things to note:
- The bedroom is accessed by innovative designed stairs with a slightly slanted central column, which may pose challenges for individuals with reduced mobility, children and the elderly. There are also stairs just after the courtyard entrance gate. Please consider this for accessibility.
- There is no air conditioning in the house. I rely on natural ventilation to keep the space comfortable during the warmer months.
- The bedroom has a tiled floor and the rest of the floors are covered in microcement, a water-sensitive material that requires specific care, as do all the wooden finishes in the house.

Carcavelos lies between Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, offering sun, beaches and a seaside vibe. It has the largest beach in Cascais, the first after the mouth of the Tejo River. This beach, which extends for more than a kilometer, is a reference for water sports enthusiasts, beachgoers and those who love life by the sea.
One of the advantages here is the proximity of Lisbon and the international airport, just 20 minutes away. So you can enjoy the peace of a coastal city without sacrificing access to city life.
The house is situated in a well-located neighborhood, quiet and safe.

- Only individuals with reservations are allowed to stay in my house.
- Using the fireplace is prohibited.
- Please eat in the dining room, not in the living room or bedroom.
- Be extremely careful with the microcement floors: do not drag furniture around, and don't spill liquids (if you do, clean up immediately).
- Use the cutting board for cutting or chopping food.
- Close the door and windows BEFORE it starts raining and before leaving the house.
- Ensure that lights, appliances, TVs, and faucets are turned off before leaving the house.
- Pets must not be left alone in the house, should eat in the courtyard, and must not disturb the neighbors.
- You can smoke outside. Use the ashtray and do not throw cigarette butts on the ground.
- Do not bring in or consume prohibited products, or engage in illicit activities.
- As when you're staying with friends, don't move my things around.
- Watch out for barbecue smoke to avoid disturbing the neighbors.
- Please inform me honestly if there are any problems and do not hide them.
- Following the booking confirmation, we will jointly establish a cleaning schedule, with intervals of either 15 or 20 days.
- Parties are not allowed. My house is connected to my smartphone through an app, which notifies me in case of excessive noise.

Cancellation Policy
You can cancel the reservation for free within 30 days before moving.
If you cancel your reservation 30 days or more before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of the entire first rent. If you cancel your reservation up to 14 days before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of half of the first rent. If you cancel your reservation less than 13 days before the move-in date, you won’t get a refund of the first rent.

What happens after I make a reservation?
Once you send a reservation request, the landlord is notified that you are interested in their offer. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your reservation.
Landlords are mainly interested in the profile of their tenant. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your reservation will more likely get approved.
What is the standard furnishing of flats?
All the apartments on offer on Flatio must meet certain standards. We require fully furnished and equipped ones, dishes, cutlery and internet connection included.
What is a medium-term rent?
The duration of a medium-term rent is usually 1 to 12 months. Most of the landlords offer long-term rents or rents for just a few days, therefore getting a medium-term rent without Flatio is not that easy.
Can I go through the contract before I make a reservation of the housing?
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every offer. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the landlords on Flatio.
Can I see my chosen accommodation in person before I sign the lease agreement?
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the landlord and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
If you move in and find that the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio at the time the reservation request was sent to the landlord, you can withdraw from the lease agreement under certain circumstances explained in this article in our help center.
Also, under our "secure move-in" policy, we'll assist you with moving to an alternative accommodation if you report within a certain period of time that the rental unit doesn't match the ad and the landlord doesn't fix the problem immediately. You can read the details in our help center.
How can I pay?
On Flatio, you have a variety of payment methods to choose from. You can use your card, payment gateway or bank transfer. Just pick the one which suits you the most.
How can I cancel my reservation?
How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.
Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
