The shared spaces include a fully furnished kitchen with a wide table and a quiet veranda, but that’s not the best part. Indeed, the house has a beautiful rooftop chill area with hammocks, poufs and a jacuzzi where to rest with a sea view while drinking wine at sunset. Co-working spaces are also available both at the entrance, with a table for up to 6 people next to the garden, and on the rooftop, thanks to a pop-up table.
The house is surrounded by spontaneous vegetation and fruit trees, but if you look just over them, you will be able to spot the sea and the Aeolian Islands, which will become the scenery of your days.
You will be offered a rigorously local breakfast, with a variety of options and the taste of the Mediterranean island. Afterwards, you can get ready for your day and discover the activities offered like meditation sessions to energize yourself, and cooking classes to learn the secrets of the Italian cuisine. And if you are a very active person, this stay has you covered with the possibility to do trekking, surfing, hiking and much more not far from your room!

Flora and fauna
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and one of the most diverse in terms of geography, flora and fauna. There is a great variety of flora in Sicily, mostly thanks to the geology and climate that encourage plant life. In mountainous areas you will find broom, lavender, rosemary, thyme, oregano, wild olive trees, dwarf palms, lentisks, cork oaks, oleanders, carob trees and tamarisks.
The largest forest tracts include oaks, holm oaks, cork oaks, chestnut trees and beech trees. Other local fauna includes the agave, palm, plane trees, ficus, cedar, mulberry and eucalyptus. Parks and reserves have been created to protect these last vestiges of forest.
There are populations of hedgehogs, rabbits, squirrels, beavers, foxes, wild cats and wild boar. You can also find birds like dalcom, pilgrim hawk, windhover, eagle, rock partridge and imperial crow. Migratory birds that still use Sicily as a pit stop include the common wader, pink seagull, greater sea swallow and the spoonbill. You can also find insects and invertebrates here such as the spotted grass snake, a rather large toad and varieties of frog and gecko.
Not too far away from the stay, you can find Mount Pellegrino, a hill close to the bay of Palermo, which is the perfect destination for hiking while being amazed by the scenery, the nature and glimpses of the harbor. Alternatively, the Capo Gallo Nature reserve is waiting for you to discover its biodiversity and highly specialized micro-climates.
Social ecosystem
This former holiday home is located on the island of Sicily, near the capital Palermo and the fascinating city of Bagheria. The town that hosts this accommodation is Casteldaccia (11,628 inhabitants), which is renomated for the wine production of the Vini Corvo - you will definitely get to taste this original Italian wine.
Palermo is a wonderful destination to immerse yourself in history and culture. Indeed, the city has over 230 ancient churches (some more than a 1000 years old!) and includes 12 UNESCO sites like Admiral's Bridge, the Royal Palace of Palermo and the Palatine Chapel. Just to visit what the Sicilian capital has to offer will take time and planning, but fortunately you can easily find paid tours, or even unpaid ones if you make friends with locals! They will be proud to show you around, so don’t be afraid to ask!
In the whole region, whether you are in the metropolitan Palermo or in a remote village exploring the territory, you can savor original and delicious Sicilian food of all kinds: street food, sea food, pastries, pizza and more! A must is also the Italian aperitivo, you will not be disappointed and it is also the perfect occasion to socialize!
And if you are really looking forward to interacting with locals, then the thing to do is joining the street markets! Especially in Palermo, you can find 5 main markets that date back to the Arab rule: Capo, Ballarò, Vucciria, Borgo Vecchio and Lattarini. Alternatively, you will always find people enjoying coffee in the local bars and if you want to go out at night, there are many venues in Palermo that could satisfy you and make you live like a true Sicilian!

Frequently asked questions for this offer
What happens after I make a reservation?
Once you send a reservation request, the landlord is notified that you are interested in their offer. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your reservation.
Landlords are mainly interested in the profile of their tenant. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your reservation will more likely get approved.
What is the standard furnishing of flats?
All the apartments on offer on Flatio must meet certain standards. We require fully furnished and equipped ones, dishes, cutlery and internet connection included.
What is a medium-term rent?
The duration of a medium-term rent is usually 1 to 12 months. Most of the landlords offer long-term rents or rents for just a few days, therefore getting a medium-term rent without Flatio is not that easy.
Can I go through the contract before I make a reservation of the housing?
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every offer. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the landlords on Flatio.
Can I see my chosen accommodation in person before I sign the lease agreement?
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the landlord and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
If you move in and find that the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio at the time the reservation request was sent to the landlord, you can withdraw from the lease agreement under certain circumstances explained in this article in our help center.
Also, under our "secure move-in" policy, we'll assist you with moving to an alternative accommodation if you report within a certain period of time that the rental unit doesn't match the ad and the landlord doesn't fix the problem immediately. You can read the details in our help center.
How can I pay?
On Flatio, you have a variety of payment methods to choose from. You can use your card, payment gateway or bank transfer. Just pick the one which suits you the most.
How can I cancel my reservation?
How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.
Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved reservation and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your reservation, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
